GHC Tennis
The tennis courts are located on the east side of the hill that shelters the Marina. Take the main road from the Airport to the Marina, and turn right opposite the main entrance to the old Clubhouse. Head 250 yards north along the side road that skirts the golf course.
The courts were built by the original developer and are now owned, but not maintained, by the Fender family. They were renovated by the POA six years ago, with the help of tennis volunteers.
Unfortunately the tennis courts:
* Are in a very sheltered, hot location that can be buggy early and late in the day.
* Are made of a high maintenance material (clay) that requires frequent use and care.
* Currently do not have a tennis committee to manage them.
Tennis membership is only $200 extra per year, and there is a budget of nearly $4,000 for 2012 that has been contributed by tennis members and donors.
If anyone is willing to take on the job of tennis captain, please contact us.
Ultimately, the aim would be to have a more practical tennis court at the site of the proposed POA beach facility. That is for the future, the existing courts are available to anyone who wishes to play today.
